Kerry McCarthy
Kerry is a counsellor and psychotherapist, specialising in adult life stage development and general mental health.
Areas of interest include stress and worry relating to career, relationships and family challenges for working women, parenting, body image and mid-life health and development issues.
Kerry has worked in mental health care across the life span, treating clients from aged 18 and up and uses techniques from a person-centred, narrative therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy approach in her work. Kerry also draws from a wider and more diverse portfolio of modalities when it suits her client’s needs.
Career and personal background
With more than 25 years’ experience in big corporate and small start-up media and communications companies, Kerry brings lived experience of managing work and life stress while raising young children and balancing the ongoing juggle of filling numerous roles.
Having lived in four countries over the past 30 years, Kerry also understands the importance of building close connections and relationships, both at work and beyond, to create a robust support circle.
As a parent, Kerry relates to the pressures of raising a family while balancing a busy life, and the desire to build support and resilience for our young people as they navigate the digital age.
Passionate about improving workplace and family cultures to support the mental wellbeing of all persons, Kerry offers an inclusive, specialised approach for each client.
When she isn’t working, Kerry enjoys spending time with her family, connecting with friends and reading a good book.
